Fifteen minutes northwest of Hovd City, situated in a grassy canyon between red rocky peaks and along the western bank of the Buyant River is the popular Shuutin Tokhoi Tourist Camp. Contact the husband / wife team that runs the camp and arrange for pick-up from the Hovd Airport (or from elsewhere within the city). The camp features as many as 8 traditional Mongolian gers during peak seasons, each with 2-4 beds apiece. The price is 10,000 Tugruks per person, per night. Feel free to use the camp's sports equipment to get a game of volleyball or basketball going, or climb the nearby red rocky hills, they range in size from quite small to massive. The company claims to be able to organize the following services:

  • Horse and camel riding tours
  • Bird watching tours
  • Sightseeing tours
  • Adventure tours
  • Individual and group tours
  • Nomadic life and customs introducing tour
  • Hiking tour
