The Long Hallways of the Myangan Ugalzat

General Information:

The Myangan Ugalzat Hotel (Мянган Угалзат), whose name means "Thousand Argali" (argali is a wild ram), opened in 2003. It is a ten minute walk from the main square, making it the farthest hotel from the city center, but it is also the closest hotel to the Buyant River and the fields of centuries-old poplar trees planted by the Manchus. To get to the hotel, walk west from the main square, after about five minutes as the main road starts to curve left, there will be a smaller road straight ahead. Take the smaller road, you should pass the Movie Theater (Кино Театр) on your left and the three-story, bright blue Tsambagarav Hotel (Цамбагарав) on your right. A few minutes beyond the Tsambagarav you will see an unassuming two-story white building, look for the words "Зочид Буудал" on the sign, because the words "Мянган Угалзат" are printed too small to read from the street. The hotel has a total of 16 rooms and 30 beds, and complimentary tea and coffee are served in the mornings. There are 2 hotels in town that charge a higher rate for foreigners. This is one of them, the other is the Grand Hotel. All prices listed below are the prices for foreigners. The room breakdown is as follows:

Lux Rooms:

There are 3 Lux Rooms (204, 205, and 208). These rooms are all single rooms, and cost 35,000T per room. They also have their own bathrooms and showers, and are the only rooms in the hotel that have hot water, which is available all day long. They also come equipped with refrigerators and cable TV.

Half-Lux Rooms:

There are 7 Half-Lux Rooms (202, 203, 206, 207, 210, 113, and 114). These rooms are all doubles, and cost 25,000T per bed. These rooms have no showers and no hot water, but they do have their own toilets as well as cable TV.

Simple Rooms:

There are 5 Simple Rooms (201, 209, 112, 115, 116, 117, and 118). These rooms are all doubles, except for room 209 which is a triple. The rate for these rooms is 15,000T per bed. There are no showers or hot water available for guests staying in the Simple Rooms, though they are some of the only Simple Rooms in town that have toilets in the rooms.
