Myangad soum is north of Hovd City, along the same paved road that first passes through Buyant soum. Myangad is 16 kilometers farther than Buyant, just across the Hovd River. Daily rides to Myangad can be found across the main entrance of the Black Market for 2,500T one-way. The vehicles will not have signs in the windshield, so you will need to ask around.

Within Myangad soum is Altan Khukhii (Алтан Хөхий), one of the 8 sacred mountains of Mongolia. This is a sacred holy mountain that the Zuungarian King Galdan Boshogt used to pray at before going to battle. It is a custom now that the Mongolian president must visit each of Mongolia's holy mountains during the term of his presidency. Sutai Mountain (Сутай), which is half in Hovd aimag and half in Govi-Altai aimag is another of Mongolia's holy mountains.
