On September 1 & 2, 2008, Hovd aimag will celebrate its rich harvest season with its annual Market Day event. Already renowned for the variety of fruits and vegetables grown within the aimag (notably the famous Hovd Watermelon), Market Day goes beyond Hovd's agricultural roots, featuring showcases and awarding medals for products in each of the following categories:
- Milk and Dairy Products
- Bread and Mongolian Pastries
- Meat and Meat Products
- Fruits
- Vegetables
- Traditional Mongolian Clothing
- Woodworks and Wooden Furniture
- Building Materials
- Iron and Metalworks
