General Information: For many years the Buyant Hotel stood unchallenged as the nicest hotel in Hovd, though some recent additions to the cityscape have given the Buyant Hotel some competition for that title. The large three-story brick hotel still has plenty to offer, with 19 rooms, an attached full-service restaurant (also known as the Buyant, see the write-up in the restaurant section), and a location very near the main square. There is a small internet café in the first floor lobby, with three computers that can be used for 600T per hour. Note that only the Simple Rooms are available by the bed, the others must be rented as a whole room. The room breakdown is as follows:

Lux Rooms:

There are 2 Lux Rooms, one on the 2nd floor and one on the 3rd. They cost 40,000T per night. The spacious living room and bedroom in the Lux Rooms are among the nicest in town, though the bathroom is not as nice as the rest of the room. Hot water showers can be had in the evenings from 6 p.m. - Midnight. The living room has 3 couches, a mini-fridge, and cable television. The bedroom has a very large bed, and a smaller cot on the side. The cost of the Lux Room includes breakfast, prepared by the downstairs restaurant for up to 2 guests.

Half-Lux Rooms:

There are 10 Half-Lux Rooms, 6 are doubles and 4 are triples. The double rooms cost 30,000T per night, the triple rooms cost 30,000T per night. Though the Half-Lux Rooms are similar to each other, they are not completely uniform: some amenities (a mini-fridge, for example) might be found in one Half-Lux Room but not another. The Half-Lux Rooms have their own bathrooms and showers with hot water available in the evenings (6 p.m. - Midnight), though it should be noted that the showers do not have stalls (see photo).

Simple Rooms:

There are 3 Simple Rooms, each with 4-5 beds in them. Two of the rooms are on the 2nd floor and one is on the 3rd. Guests wishing to stay in a Simple Room pay by the bed, not the room, and the cost is 15,000T per bed. The rooms do not have nearby bathrooms, guests in the Simple Rooms are asked to use the two-stall bathroom on the 1st floor (this bathroom is also shared by visitors to the hotel's restaurant), and there are no shower facilities available. The hotel said that if any of the Half-Lux Rooms is unoccupied, there is a possibility that a guest in one of the Simple Rooms would be allowed to use a shower in a Half-Lux Room free of charge, but at the present time the claim has not been verified.
